Priorities

A WELCOMING BRIGHTON:

Implement more inclusionary zoning in Brighton, and work with the Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Advisory Board that I helped found to develop policies that will make Brighton a more accessible, affordable and connected community, that we can all continue to love.

A SUSTAINABLE BRIGHTON:

As liaison to the Sustainability Oversight Committee (SOC), facilitated installation of rooftop solar panels and energy-efficient air-sourced heat pump in Carmen Clark Lodge. Brighton Town Hall will reopen with a geothermal system that will make Town Hall more habitable for employees and visitors alike.

A BRIGHTON OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY:

Work with our educational partners in the five public school districts that serve Brighton, to ensure that our youth receive the educational funding that they deserve and are promised from New York State, all while maintaining a safe and healthful climate that fosters the educational opportunity and educational excellence for which the Town of Brighton is known.

A THRIVING BRIGHTON:

Ensure that we live in a community where everyone can pursue personal growth and fulfillment and realize their full potential, from childhood to elders aging in place, all while maintaining the smart growth and economic redevelopment enshrined in our Envision Brighton 2018 Comprehensive Plan.

A CONNECTED BRIGHTON:

Work to make Brighton more transparent and accessible, from increasing community engagement through the Councilmember On Your Corner program, to pursuing the Complete Streets Initiative that has enabled bike lanes on Elmwood Avenue, the completed Auburn Trail, and the planned Multiversity Trail.
